Nathaniel Branden began lecturing on self-esteem and its impact on love, work and the struggle for happiness in the late 1950s. Since then, self-esteem has evolved from a concept that struggled to gain traction among the literati to one that is widely discussed and debated today.
During this long and tumultuous history, Nathaniel Branden has stood alone as the preeminent authority on self-esteem. He has written nearly 20 books in his career as a psychologist and philosopher, including such luminary works as The Psychology of Self-Esteem, How to Raise Your Self-Esteem, The Six Pillars of Self-Esteemand The Art of Living Consciously.
In addition to his work as a writer, Nathaniel Branden has also worked as a lecturer, therapist and corporate consultant specializing in helping modern businesses employ the principles of self-esteem. He is also the founder and Executive Director of The Branden Institute for Self-Esteem, a counseling center in Los Angeles, California.
